Dedicated to Perfection!
Proofreading for the self-published author.
Hello, fellow authors! Have you reached the final draft of your manuscript? How many times have you read it yourself? Give your tired eyes a break and rely on a professional editor to give your manuscript that final review before it’s ready for publication. Writing a book is an amazing accomplishment and it takes a good team to get it done right.
The final step in the editing process is proofreading! A double-check to ensure there are no errors in what you’ve put your heart and soul into. Are all the typos corrected? Is there a missing word? Does every sentence flow smoothly and read well?
You’ve already spent so much time and effort constructing a beautiful story to share, and you don’t want those annoying typos to get in the way. Make sure to hire an objective, experienced editor who can check your manuscript with a fresh perspective.
Kirsten McNeill,
Proofreader
Hi! I’m Kirsten, a passionate reader and author! I’m an avid reader of thriller novels, but I also love urban fantasy and contemporary romance (and always looking to expand). Since 2015, I’ve worked with fellow indie authors as a writer and editor. I studied Creative Writing in college, and continue to find ways to improve my skills by:
- Attending online courses such as Grammar for Writing Professionals.
- Reading books such as The Positive Trait Thesaurus by Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi, Self-Editing For Fiction Writers by Renni Browne and Dave King, and On Writing: A Memoir Of The Craft by Stephen King.
- Joining Facebook groups to connect and gain insight from the writing and reading community.
Proofreading Packages Available for All Writers and Self-Published Authors
I work with self-published authors to help them ensure their work is on the right track in young adult, sweet romance, fantasy, mystery, and self-help genres. I also have my own self-published books!
With my proofreading package, gain a new perspective from someone who has never read this piece before. I will check for:
- Typos that are determined to make it to publication!
- Any strange sentences that don’t quite fit.
- Outstanding mistakes that should be corrected.
As I focus on those areas, your manuscript will be polished to a shine to ensure that your final draft is ready to be shared with the world.
Working with Kirsten has been the type of experience every writer desires: organized, professional, and punctual. The best part about working with her is her compassion for writing and wanting you to have the best version of your work. She’s candid, yet respectful and goes above with her packaging to ensure her services are financially feasible for you. I look forward to working with her on future projects.
